Match Review 9th Sec : VS FC Ryukyu at City Light Stadium on August 1

This sec, an experienced centre back, Tanaka was back in the starting line-up. Two forwards, Shimizu and Yamamoto started the game at the same time for the first time this term.


During the match, Okayama struggled to have a possession. The home club had few chances, however, Mimura smashed the net, encouraging his team mates. Afterwards, the game remained the same. Arima's men showed a solid defense against the rival. Before the break, Shimizu entered the box, but he was blocked by the opponent.


Mimura and Shimizu were replaced by Sekido and Lee Yong-Jae respectively to change the game. However, in the  59th minute, Ryukyu made an equalizer with their free kick. Four minutes later, Lee Yong-Jae missed the chance for a clincher. While, in the 84th minute, it was turned around by the visitors. As a result, the red-uniformed men dropped three points.

Match Preview 9th Sec : VS FC Ryukyu at City Light Stadium on August 1

2018-promoted club survived in the division 2 Leauge last year, finishing in the 14th place. After the opening of 2019 term, they kept in a good form, making a big surprise.


Masutani, Uejo and Tokumoto must be motivated against their former club. Veteran forward, Abe is one of the key players. He is well-experienced so that Okayama's defenders are required to mark him with an extra care.

Match Review 8th Sec : VS Kyoto Sanga at City Light Stadium on July 29th

This sec, young centre back, CHOI Jung Won started the game for the first time this season. Sekido and Yamamoto were back in the starting line-up.


In the 11th minute, free kick was given to the home club. Ueda almost found the net. Three minutes later, Uejo made an attepmt, but it was off target. In the 19th minute, an ace forward, Lee Yong-Jae smashed the net with his excellent opener, provided by Uejo. In the 33rd minute, goal keeper, Popp William showed a fine saving. Three minutes later, Lee Yong-Jae failed to add a second.


Four minutes after the break, the game was equalized by the rival. In the 53rd minute, Lee Yong-Jae nearly made a clincher, provided by Sekido. In the 64th minute, Saito came off the bench to change the game. In the 79th minute, Uejo's free kick was blocked by Kyoto. Afterwards, they couldn't score to clinch the game.

Match Preview 8th Sec : VS Kyoto Sanga at City Light Stadium on July 29th

Last season, Kyoto constantly competed for the promotion, but after summer, the club suffered in a slump and ended up in the 8th place. This term, they target for the ticket to the upper league.


The outfit are under the reform the new head coach, Saneyoshi. The former division 1 club signed with some talented players such as, Peter UTAKA, Li and Moriwaki. At the last sec, the rival were defeated by the league's leader, Nagasaki.

Match Review 7th Sec : VS Avispa Fukuoka at Best Denki Stadium on July 25

This sec, some fresh players such as Goto, Matsuki and Shimizu are placed in the starting line-up. Veteran forwards, Akamine and Saito stood by as a substitute.


Right after the kickoff, Lee Yong-Jae tried to smash the net. In the 8th minute, a rookie midfielder, Noguchi showed a mid-range shot. Afterwards, Okayama struggled to create chances. In the 40th minute, Arima's men conceded an opening goal. Later, they failed to make it tie before the break.


After the interval, Noguchi was replaced by Sekido. In the 59th minute, An experienced playmaker, Ueda almost found the net with his free kick. Six minutes later, goal keeper, Popp William made a fine saving. In the 68th minute, two forwards, Saito and Yamamoto came off the bench. Later, Akamine was also sent onto the pitch. However, the red-uniformed men failed to equalize the game despite their efforts.

Match Preview 7th Sec : VS Avispa Fukuoka at Best Denki Stadium on July 25

In 2019, the club had a disappointing season, ending up in the 16th place. This term, they try to race for promotion. In order to secure their promotion, Okayama are required to defeat the rival. 


Former Fagiano centre back, Shinohara has been constantly-present so far. He can be the one to watch out for if he starts the game. Last sec, they defeated another promotion rival, Tokushima Vortis 1 - 0.

Match Review 6th Sec : VS V・Varen Nagasaki at City Light Stadium on July 19

This sec, rookie midfield player, Noguchi started the game, replacing Sekido. While, former Fagiano playmaker, Otake was listed on the reserve list.


After the kickoff, the home club struggled to have possession. In the 13rd minute, goal keeper, Popp William showed a fine saving. Eight minutes later, left back, Tokumoto made a fantastic opener, provided by Ueda. In the 34th minute, Popp William showed another good saving. Two minutes later, Uejo tried to add a second.


Three minutes after the interval, Ueda's free kick was cleared by the opponent. In the 64th minute, Otake came off the bench. Nine minutes later, he made an equalizer. In the 78th minute, the visitors turned it round. Afterwards, Head coach, Arima sent three attackers such as Shimizu, Saito and Akamine to equalize the game, but they failed to get points.
