Six minutes after the kickoff, corner was given to the home club. Esaka's attempt was off target, crossed by Kato. Right after that, Tatsuta was not able to grasp another chance. In the 67th minute, Lucas smash the net with his superb strike. During the added time, he was replaced by veteran forward, Saito who  appeared for the first time this season. As a result, the red-uniformed men successfully kept a clean sheet.

J League Cup 2025: Giant-killing happened

On March 20th, the club visited Kokura to face the division 3 club, Giravanz Kitakyushu. In the opponent, two former Fagiano men, Kiyama and Taniguchi started the game. On the other hands, some fresh players were  listed on the starting line-up. An experienced centre back, Yanagi was one of these. The red-uniformed men were expected to keep a clean sheet.


Five minutes after the kickoff, Iwabuchi hit the target, but it was saved by Taniguchi. In the 19th minute, the visitors conceded an opener. Later, the red-uniformed men struggled to equalize the game. In the 35th minute, Kamiya's attepmt was off target. The second half remained the same. In the 46th minute, Kato's strike was off target. In the 63th minute, Esaka and Lucas came off the bench to change the game. However, the club were not able to smash the net. As a result, the club's journey in this composition ended in the first round.

Seven minutes after the kickoff, the team obtained a corner, but Kato's set piece was cleared by the opponent. One minute later, Kiyama'men showed several good attacking. Tagami almost found the net with his header. Right after that, Kimura's attempt was off target. Lucas nearly opened the score. In the 13th minute, Lucas was not able to grasp another chance. In the 36th minute, Esaka nearly smash the net. Two minutes later, Tatsuta's shot was off target. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.


Six minutes after the break, Tagami's shot was ballooned over the bar. Right after that, Kato showed a nice shot, but he was not able to hit the target. J League Cup 2025: The journey to the top

This year, the club take part in J League Cup as the division 1 club. In Round 1 on March 20th, the club face the division 3 club, Giravanz Kitakyushu that some former Fagiano players belong to.


The head coach, Kiyama is likely to place some fresh members in the starting line-up so that his men would be motivated to play for the first choice in the league campaign.

The rival club target the ticket for Asian Champion League. This powerful club are one of the title favorites and the match is expected to be very tough.


Kawasaki's captian, Wakisaka can be the one to watch out for. This playmaker can trigger the team's attacking and create chances. The red-uniformed men are required to mark him with an extra care.

This is the first time for Okayama to face the rival. This sec, Kato was back in the starting line-up. He was expected to make lots crosses. Lucas and Kimura stood by on the bench.


After the kickoff, Okayama struggled to have more ball possession. In the 3rd minute, Iwabuchi's shot was off target. Right after that, Kato was able to hit the target with his attempt. In the 21st minute, Brodersen made a fine saving. Later, Kiyama's men struggled to create chances. During the added time, Kato's strike was saved by Urawa's keeper. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.

Four minutes after the break, the visitors conceded an opening goal. In the 56th minute, Tatsuta showed a nice blocking. In the 58th minute, Lucas and Kimura came off the bench to change the game. Two substitutes aggressively kept attacking forward. In the 84th minute, Tatsuta missed the chance to equalize the game. In the 88th minute, Lucas's header was denied by Urawa's keeper. Later, he almost smash the net with his header. As the result, Okayama lost to the former Asia champion.

Urawa Reds are one of the powerful clubs and well known in Asia. They had won the Asian Champion's league before as well as Ganba Osaka. For Kiyama's men, this match seems to be the big test again.  


Former Fagiano centre back, Inoue plays for Urawa. He must be motivated to face his former club.

This sec, another new signing, Matsumoto started the game for the first time this season. Former Shimizu attacker, Kamiya was on the starting line-up.


After the kickoff, Okayama struggled to have more ball possession. In the 11th minute, Kamiya showed a nice blocking to stop being conceded. In the 17th minute, Esaka tried to open the score. In the 18th minute, he  was not able to grasp another chance, cornered by Kamiya. In the 20th minute, Iwabuchi almost found the net. In the 29th minute, his another shot was off target. Before the break, Kiyama's men had two goal-scoring  chances, but failed to take a lead.


Two minutes after the break, Ichimi's attempt was denied by Shimizu's goal keeper. In the 62th minute, a penalty was given to the opponent, Brodersen saved his team from being conceded. In the 65th minute, Lucas and Kimura came off the bench. In the 68th minute, the rival took a lead. In the 71st minute, Kimura nearly equalized the game. Five minutes later, Takeuchi and Kato came in. In the 75th minute, Kimura made an equalizer with his excellent header. As a result, the club shared a point with 2024 division 2 Champion.
