J League Cup 26 - 27: They lost the ticket for the next round

 

The club faced the division 1 rival, Nagoya Grampus. Head coach, Kiyama placed some fresh players such as Ikedo and Fujii. Former Okayama defender, Tokumoto started the game. 


After the kickoff, Okayama showed a good start. In the 15th minute, the visitors took a lead with Ikedo's opener. But it was equalized a few minutes later. Right after the break, the opponent add a second. For minutes later, Fujii found the net. In the 69th minute, the rival took a lead again. In the 88th minute, Leo Gaucho made a superb equalizer. However, Okayama were defeated due to the penalty shootout after the match.
