A veteran defender, Kaji was back in the starting line-up. A Korean attacker, Park was listed on the bench. While, Sanuki's key player, Baba played as a starter. 

After the kickoff, Okayama aggressively kept pushing forward. In the 2nd minute, an attacker, Mimura's cross was denied. Three minutes later, a defender, Shinohara almost headed an opener.  In the 7th minute, Mimura's free kick was blocked by the rival's goal keeper. In the 11th minute, Toyokawa's attempt was off target. In the 28th minute, a rookie playmaker, Tsukagawa was not able to blaze the ball on target. Before the break, an experienced attacker, Ito's free kick was blocked by the opponent. The first period ended in a scoreless tie.


Three minutes after the interval, a veteran striker, Akamine almost found the net, provided by Kaji. In the 52nd minute, a goal keeper, Ichimori showed a superb saving. In the 67th minute, Toyokawa was replaced by an experienced playmaker, Otake. Four minutes later, the red-uniformed men were not able to grasp the chance with their free kick. Afterwards, Park came off the bench to change the game. In the 72nd minute, he nearly made a clincher. In the 79th minute, Otake's header was denied. Two minutes later, Okayama conceded an opener. Right after that, a target man, Orsini was sent onto the pitch. During the added time, Okayama made a great showing, but they were not able to equalize the match.
