Veteran forward, Saito was sidelined due to his injury. Two young attackers, Kawamoto and Miyazaki were back in the starting line-up. Uejo was on the reserve list. He was expected to conclude the game.


During the first half, Okayama were in the driving seat. In the 4th minute, they missed the chance to open the score. In the 15th minute, Yamamoto's attempt was blocked by Gunma. Three minutes later, Kawamoto was not able to grasp another chance. In the 26th minute, Yamamoto stroke a shot, but it was offside. In the 35th minute,rookie playmaker, Hikida's strike was side-netted. The first period ended in a scoreless tie.


After the break, the game changed. In the 50th minute, an experienced gool keeper, Kanayama showed a fine saving. Four minutes later, the visitors conceded an opening goal. Right after that, Uejo came off the bench to change the game. In the 61st minute, Kanayama made a superb saving. In the 72nd minute, Shirai missed to equalize the match. In the 85th minute, Uejo nearly made an equalizer. As a result, the red-uniformed were defeated by Gunma.
