Four minutes after the kickoff, Miyamoto almost smash the net. In the 12th minute, he was not able to grasp another chance. In the 19th minute, Sato entered Shonan's box and tried to open score, but his attempt was denied by the former Okayama keeper, Popp William. In the 20th minute, Miyamoto's strike was blocked by Popp again. In the 22nd minute, Ichimi missed the chance for an opener. Before the break, his another attempt was ballooned over the bar. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.

In the 11th minute, Iwabuchi nearly doubled their lead. Four minutes later, Ichimi tried to find the net. In the 19th minute, Iwabuchi's attempt was off target. In the 21th minute, Sato almost added a second. In the 32nd minute, Tatsuta was replaced by Matsumoto due his injury. In the 33rd minute, Esaka's strike hit the bar. In the 39th minute, Ichimi's attempt was off target.

Two minutes later, Kiyama's men tried to double their lead, but it was offside. In the 16th minute, Iwabuchi's attempt was off target. Ten minutes later, he missed the chance to add a second. In the 35th minute, Iwabuchi added a second with his superb strike. In the 40th minute, he failed to find the net with his header.  

After the break, Iwabuchi was replaced by Lucas, however, Okayama struggled to attack forward. In the 59th minute, Tagami showed a nice blocking.
