During the first half, Nagasawa's men revealed the lack of ability to score. In the 5th minute, an experienced playmaker, Sueyoshi's corner was cleared by Mito's legend goal keeper, Homma. Two minutes later, a rookie forward, Fukumoto failed to take a ball from Homma. In the 19th minute, an attacker, Mimura entered the box and tried to provide a cross, but it didn't work out. Four minutes later, Okayama conceded an opening goal. In the 27th minute, an experienced playmaker, Ueda's free kick was blocked by the opponent. In the 36th minute, Mito added a second. Two minutes later, shockingly, the rival added a third. Afterwards, the red-uniformed men missed the chances to score.


Two minutes after the interval, Mimura almost smashed the net, but it was denied by Homma. One minute later, defender, Mukuhara's mid-range shot was off target. The head coach sent two strikers, Akamine and Saito onto the pitch to change the game. In the 52nd minute, Akamine missed the chance to score. In the 58th minute, Sekido was not able to grasp the chance. In the 66th minute, an attacker, Nakama came off the bench. In the 77th minute, Sekido's attempt hit the post. Two minutes later, Nakama nearly found the net. In the 88th minute, Akamine failed to score, crossed by Ueda. During the added time, Akamine missed another chance.
