He is legendary fantasista in the club's history. He led the club as a captian during the primary phase of Okayama. He is home-grown in Kurashiki city. After his graduation from big-time sports high school,Tamano Konan High shoool in Okayama, he played a football at Fukuoka University with Tsuboi, former international, playing for Shonan Bellmare in J league division 1 this season.

Later, he belonged to Mitsubishi Motors Mizushima FC as an amateur for four years in Japan Football League. In 2006, he decided to join then Chogoku Regional club, Fagiano Okayama. At that time, he said that he couldn't imagine that he would be able to play in J League in the future.

He came back as a player in 2013, however, this season, he was only capped four times. He is actually from Okayama, therefore, he was the local here in the city. Next year, he will be working for the club's academy.

The club made an agreement with a defender, KUBO Tsubasa. He now plays for Keio Gijuku university. According to the news reports, he was very impressed by the club's legend, Iwamasa, when he took part in the club's training. Therefore, he decided to play for Fagiano.

Renofa Yamaguchi got promoted to division 2.

Renofa Yamaguchi won the championship in the division 3 this year and successfully landed a promotion to the upper league. At the end of this term, they struggled to gain a victory, thus, the club was caught by the second-place finish, Machida Zelvia in points. Renofa barely made it in the top spot because they were ahead on goal differential.

Throughout the season, their attackings really stood out. The top three scorers in the league all play for Yamaguchi. Amazingly, the top scorer, Kishida scored 32 goals, leading the club as an ace forward. Midfield players, Fukumitsu and Shimaya scored 19 and 16 goals respectively. The team's total goal is 96 in 36 matches.

Next season, PRIDE OF CHUSHIKOKU Derby match seem to warm up more and more because there will be five clubs in this campaign next year. It is expected that for Fagiano, the game against Yamaguchi is going to be fiery hot.

The linkage between R. K. Classic and Fagiano Okayama

R.K. Classic are amateur club, which belong to Okayama Prefectural League division 1. Its home town is Kurashiki, which is the second largest city in Okayama prefecture. In actual fact, the club had played the role as a temporary second team of Fagiano Okayama for two years (2007 and 2008) before Fagiano Okayama Next were established.

The club are based on the predecessor of Fagiano Okayama, which are River Free Kickers. The name of the club, R means River Free Kickers, K means their sponsor, Konko pharmacy, C means classic. It is obvious that this amateur club have kinship with Fagiano Okayama.

In 2008, R.K.Classic had a chance to advance the playoffs for the promotion to Chugoku regional league, but declined that chance due to various reasons.

The club's transfer information #1

After the end of the regular season, Fagiano have started reorganizing the club. As of now, the club already unveiled that some of the players leave Okayama.

A defender, Ueda is one of them. He joined the club from Gamba Osaka in 2009, the club's first year in J League division 2. He was especially good with heading. In 2011 season, he stroke an amazingly long distance shot (about 58m) on a header.  He received injuries and missed most of the matches this term.

A defensive midfielder, Chiaki also leaves Okayama. He has played for Fagiano Next as well in 2010. He made an agreement with the club in 2010 and he had appeared at more than 150 matches. At the begining of this season, he was the first choice, but after he was listed on the injury-list, he was not able to come back to the pitch.

Another midfielder, Someya won't play for the club next year. He came to Okayama from FC Gifu last year. In 2013 season, he scored ten goals in Gifu, therefore, he was expected to play as a chance-taker, however, he also suffered from injuries.

The first choice player, Tadokoro made a deal with Yokohama FC. He is the product of Cerezo Osaka. He joined the club in 2009 and constantly played as a starter. His total appearance is more than 200 matches.

Head coach, Nagasawa is going to work for the club next year so that he and his men are expected to show better performances next year.

2015 Season Review : Solid in defence

This term, Fagiano displayed their talents in defence. They lost only 35 goals of 42 matches. The number is the third best in this league. Even the division 2 champion, Omiya Ardija lost 37 goals, which means, Okayama's defenders were very stable throughout the season.

Former international, Iwamasa made an extraordinary contribution in reinforcing Fagiano's defence. He played at every match this season as a captain. Needless to say, he had a strong presence in the team, leading his teammates.

A goal keeper, Nakabayashi showed lots of excellent savings this season. He was ever-present this season and very stable. Obviously, his tremendous performances encouraged his teammates a lot.

A young defender, Shinohara improved himself a lot. Last year, he played for Roasso Kumamoto on a loan and gained playing experiences. It seems that those experiences encouraged him to play better. Even though, he had been on the injury-list for some time this year, his contribution for Okayama was admirable.

Other defenders, Takeda, Kondo and Kukita also performed solidly. Unfortunately, Ueda received injuries and missed most of the matches this season. The club are expected to maintain their defence next year.

2015 Season Review : The lack of shooting abilities

This season, Fagiano almost always struggled to score goals,  therefore, they failed to obtain points at lot of matches. Their total score is 40 goals, which is less than the number of the match this year. In addition, they had 18 tie games, which means they lost 36 points.

Okayama's top scorer is an ace forward, Oshitani. He scored nine goals this term. He stuggled to deal with opponent's markings, therefore, he was sometimes stressed so that he was sent off at the match against FC Gifu because of his violent behavior.

A young attacker, Katayama scored five goals this year, but the season must be disappointing for him because he missed lots of chances during the matches. According to the record, his total number of shot is 77, which means he could have scored more.

Another forward, Kubo seemed to lack a sense of stability even though he stroke two impressive goals. Some of the other players such as Yajima, Ito and Iwamasa scored some goals, however, the red-uniformed club failed to seize many opportunities at set plays.

In order to enhance their attacking strength, it can be an option for the club to aquire a skillful striker. Nevertheless, the club are expected to take some measures to overturn the status quo.

2015 Season Review : New comers rose up

2015 season finally ended. Fagiano Okayama finished at 11th position with 54 points out of 22 clubs. Even though their position was lower than 2014 season's, 8th, it seems that their strengths were upgraded by their signings of this year.

This year, two former internationals, Kaji and Iwamasa joined the club. That was a big surprise in Okayama. Everyone was so grateful about their participation. They are experienced and well-known therefore, most supporters expected the club to obtain the ticket to the playoffs.

During the season, especially new comers made strong showings. Needless to say, a captain, Iwamasa contributed in a significant way. He started every matches, encouraging the team. Another Legend, Kaji provided lots of accurate crosses. Former Oita Trinita, Ito was fit to Fagiano's attacking. A defensive midfield player, Watanabe showed defensive steels. A young attacker, Yajima dramatically widened his appeals.

Other new comers who came to Okayama in the middle of the season also did a good job. An attacker, Okamoto made a dramatic clincher against Avispa Fukuoka during the added time at 30th sec. A Korean midfielder, Hwang Jin-Sung reinforced Fagiano's attacking, providing lots of chances as a playmaker.

In terms of results, the club failed to advance the playoffs, but their performances would lead to the next year. Hopefully, all of key players would stay in this club next term as well.

Two clubs in Shimane failed to move up to Japan Football League

This season, Dezzolla Shimane ended up in the second place of Chugoku regional league so that they were not able to grasp the chance for All Japan Regional Football Promotion League Series. One of the possible reasons is that their biggest competitor, Matsue City FC stood up against them.

The one who won the league this season was Matsue City FC. Except the tie game against Dezzolla, Matsue won all of the matches. During this term, they exercised devastating attackings so that the club obtained points at a good rate.

This season, Matsue City FC successfully advanced to All Japan Regional Football Promotion League Series this November, however, the club were eliminated from the first round.

Needless to say, the season was disappointing for both clubs. Next year, they will engage in fierce competition again to obtain the right to make a challenge for the Japan Football League.

Iwamasa was legend in Thailand as well.

Needless to say, this former international is the mainstay of Fagiano Okayama now even though he came to Okayama this year. He certainly has the mentality as a victor. He is really influential in Fagiano that's likely to be because he has played for 16 major title holder, Kashima Antlers for almost ten years as well as his Japan international career.

It seems he has broadened his horizon last year when he played for BEC Tero Sasana in Thailand. Apparently he was viewed as a legend there. I was just touched to see this.

Match Preview 38th Sec : VS Yokoyama FC at Nishigaoka Soccer Stadium on October 25

On May 24, Fagiano met Yokohama FC at City Light Stadium. During the first half, Fagiano had lots of opportunities, however, they struggled to take shots. After the break, the game remained unchanged. Yokohama's goalkeeper, Minami showed brilliant performances, saving lots of shots. As a result, the match ended in a draw.

This September, Slovenian head coach, Milos Rus left the club because of his health problem and the club's slackness. Therefore, a new head coach, Hitoshi NAKATA leads the team now. The club's legend, Kazuyoshi Miura has scored three goals so far. He is globally famous so that the total attendance of this sec is expected to be higher than usual.

At last sec, Yokohama played against Kyoto Sanga FC. During the match, Yokohama were mostly forced to play on their own side, but they barely kept a clean sheet while they were not able to make a decider, as a result, the match ended in a tie.

Yokohama has been highly motivated to remain in the division 2. They now stay 16 position with 44 points, thus, Fagiano must be careful about their attacking, otherwise, Okayama would be taken in on relegation threatened zone.

Suggested strategy to increase supporters

This season, the club set a target for average match attendance as 10,000, in order to scale up themselves as the club, befitting the division 1. However, the current average is below 9,000. The club has now faced difficulties.

In order to strengthen the team, gate money is one of the most important factors. Thus, Fagiano have been focused on various projects, but it seems that there is still a room for an improvement. How can the
actual state be changed for better?

It is thought that the club's website should be enriched somehow. Concretely speaking, video contents should be available on the site such as player's interviews, match advertisements and the club's feature programs. If they produce the programs and make those open only for fan club members, for example, the number of membership can be dramatically increased.

This is just an example. Apparently, there can be lots of ways to meet the goals so that the club should be more flexible and should never stop challenging.

Match Review 37th Sec : VS Zweigen Kanazawa at City Light Stadium on October 18

Later, Nagasawa sent Mimura and Kubo into the pitch to break the deadlock, however, red-uniformed club were unable to defeat the rival. The match ended in a scoreless draw, therefore, it seems difficult for Fagiano to advance to the playoffs even though they still have five matches left this term.

In September, A forward, Mizunaga got injured during the training, he has suffered his right leg fracture which takes about three months to heal completely. Former Fagiano Defender, Noda has constantly been on a pitch since he joined the team. he seems highly motivated against Okayama.

At last sec, Kanazawa lost to Consadole Sapporo in Sapporo. Zweigen successfully equalized the match once, however, in the 77th minutes, the game was finalized by Sapporo's legend, Ono. As a result, Kanazawa have not made a victory for the last 17 matches.

At Ajinomoto Stadium on October 10

Two football clubs in Shimane aiming for J leauge

In Chugoku region, there is a J league club in each prefecture except for Shimane. Fagiano Okayama, J league two-time champion, Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Hiroshima, both Gainare Tottori in Tottori and Renofa Yamaguchi in Yamaguchi belong to J league 3 this season.

In Chugoku regional league, the fifth tier of the Japanese football league system, there are two clubs in Shimane prefecture, aspiring for J league. The first one is Dezzolla Shimane. Last season, Dezzolla ended up at runner-up of the league, therefore, they missed the chance to obtain the promotion to the upper league, Japan football league. This season, the club has struggled to become the top as well.

The second club is Matsue City FC. It is relatively new club, which was promoted to the regional league in 2010. In recent years, some former J league experiencers have joined the club. One of them, a veteran midfielder, Sanenobu, who used to play for Gainare Tottori before. He is well-experienced and leads the club.

Both clubs are now developing through friendly competition in the league. I personally hope whichever would be promoted to the upper league, Japan Football League next year, and to J league division 3 in two years.

Match Preview 31st Sec : VS Ehime FC at Ningineer Stadium on September 13

After the break, Ehime's ace attacker, Kawahara fired a fatal shot. Even though, Iwamasa stroke a goal, the result was certainly disappointing for Okayama.

Last month, a midfielder, Yasuda joined Ehime on a loan from Tokyo Verdy. Tamabayashi has constantly been on a pitch as a first choice. Kawahara can be viewed as a key player. He has already scored 9 goals so far this season. Former Sanfrecce Hiroshima's defender, Nishioka has been stable.

At last sec, Ehime FC defeated Tokyo Verdy. Ehime kept a clean sheet with their only one goal. They have certainly been in a good shape with 5 straight victories so far. Amazingly, Ehime beat former division 1 club, Cerezo Osaka and Omiya Ardija.

Ehime has made a strong showing so far at 6th position with 47 points as of now. Fagiano are expected to actively keep attacking and defeat the rival. Fagiano's attackers are required to rise up during the match.

PRIDE OF CHUSHIKOKU warms up in Chushikoku region.

It is a derby match in Chugoku, Shikoku region and a campaign, which started in 2011 to pump up the region. Its aim is to entertain the locals of the region and to promote local tourisms and specialities. For supporters in the region, the derby match leads the stadium to reach a fever pitch.

As of now, six clubs participate in this campaign. In the division 2, Fagiano Okayama, Tokushima Vortis in Tokushima, Ehime FC in Ehime and Kamatamare Sanuki in Kagawa take part in it. In the division 3, Gainare Tottori in Tottori and Renofa Yamaguchi in Yamaguchi step in it. The rest of J league club, Sanfrecce Hiroshima is not in this campaign because this two-time division 1 champion belong to the top league.

As of now, In the division 2, Fagiano stay at the top out of four clubs in PRIDE OF CHUSHIKOKU. Okayama are scheduled to face Ehime on September 13rd and Sanuki on November 1st. Red-uniformed club are expected to defeat those rivals so that they will probably be able to achieve the minimum aim of remaining in division 2.

I personally hope that other foot ball clubs in Shimane and Kochi would become a member of J League and join this derby in the near future. Therefore, I also pay attention to Igosso Kochi in Kochi and Matsue City FC,  Dezzola Shimane in Shimane, which belong to each regional league.

2015年9月5日土曜日

Fagiano's men participate actively in J league division 3.

A young midfielder, Ryo IIDA, who played for Fagiano Okayama Next, joined the division 3 club, S.C. Sagamihara on a loan this May. Since then, he has been ever-present as a first choice and already scored three goals as of now.

He has taken chances and performed well so far. I personally look forward that he will improve himself this season and make a contribution for the top team in the near future.

On the other hand, a midfielder, Ren SENGOKU who signed a loan deal with AC Nagano Parceiro this season, has struggled on the reserve list. Even though he was listed as a starter at the opening match this term, he hasn't had lots of opportunities to play so far. He has scored a goal so far.

A possible reason is that Nagano is one of the top choices for the champion of division 3 and they have a good bench strength. I just hope that he will find a way to get out of the difficulties soon.

Fagiano Okayama Next as the representative of Okayama prefecture, faced Tokushima Vortis at Pocarisweat Stadium in Tokushima. It seemed that it was a good opportunity to try their strength against former division 1 club. If Next is successfully able to advance to the Second Round, They are likely to meet Thespakusatsu Gunma on September 6.

The match was obviously one-sided. During the first period, former division 1 club scored four goals to secure their victory. After the break, the game remained unchanged. Vortis stroke three more goals. As a result, an upset didn't happen, so Next left Emperor's cup in vain.
