Match Preview 1st Sec : VS Renofa Yamaguchi FC at Yamaguchi Ishin Park Stadium on February 28

At last, long-waited new season has started. This match is PRIDE OF CHUSHIKOKU derby match and also the opening match of this season, therefore, it is expected that lots of supporters are coming to the stadium for this remarkable game.

This is the first year for Yamaguchi to play in the division 2. The club won the championship of the division 3 last season. Two years ago, Renofa got promoted to the division 3 from Japan Football League. The club has made a big breakthrough in the recent years.

The club's head coach, Ueno has worked since when the club belonged to Japan Football League in 2014. An ace forward, the top scorer in the division 3 last term, Kishida can be viewed as a threat. Last season, he appeared in 34 matches in the division 3 and netted 32 goals, making a big surprise in the league.

Yamaguchi are very offensive team so that Fagiano's defenders are required to show solids in defense. In terms of attacking, Okayama's new striker, Akamine are highly expected to bring a victory to the club as a chance-taker.

Chugoku Regional League in 2016 is worthy of remark

It seems that the league has kicked off an era of expected fierce competition among powerful clubs aiming for Japan Football League and J League in the future.

The champion hopefuls in 2016 season are Matsue City FC and Dezzolla Shimane. In the recent seasons, two clubs have finished in the top group.

Former JFL club, Mitsubishi Motors Mizushima F.C. is the one to be reckoned with. Mizushima has shown stable performances in recent years.

SC Tottori Dreams, which consist almost entirely of former Gainare Tottori's men, got promoted from Tottori Prefectural League. The club can be dark-horse because the club showed overwhelming strength in the prefectural league last year.

Hatsukaichi FC is also the one, which moved up from Hiroshima Prefectural League. It should be noted that Former Japan national, KUBO Tatsuhiko plays for the club. He plays a mainstay, aiming for J League division 3 in the near future.

2016 season in Japan Football Leauge is unpredictable

This season, there are more several clubs with J League 100 Year Plan club status and also, other clubs aiming for J League division 3 than last term. Therefore, for Fagiano Next, this season is going to be tougher because last season, the team finished in the 15th place, second to the bottom of the league.

Especially, three of J League 100 Year Plan holders seem powerful enough to be qualified for the division 3. Vanraure Hachinohe was unable to get up to J League division 3 last season even though they took the second place, because their present home stadium was not good enough to meet the requirement of J League. This year, their new home stadium is scheduled to be completed so that the club are likely to promote to J League division 3 if they finish within the fourth place this year.

Azul Claro Numazu acquired some talented players for the new season. Former Fagiano Next midfielder, Miyata joined the club. The most notable player is the Japan football Legend, Masashi NAKAYAMA. This former national is very experienced and can be a textbook for his teammates.

Nara Club are also one of J League 100 Year Plan holders. This year, the club made an agreement with veteran defender, Takuya YAMADA. He has played for several J League clubs such as Tokyo Verdy, Cerezo Osaka and Yokohama FC etc... Last year, he worked for Imabari FC in Shikoku Regional League.

In terms of performances, those clubs must finish within top four of Japan football League, and either first or second among other 100 Year Plan holders. Other clubs such as FC Osaka, Tokyo Musashino FC, ReinMeer Aomori and Briobecca Urayasu aim for J League as well. This League is obviously noteworthy.

KOCHI U TORASTAR F.C. and IGOSSO Kochi in Shikoku Regional League unveiled to merge into a single club. Last season, both club finished in the league at second and third respectively.

Currently, Kochi prefecture is the only one where there is no J league club in Shikoku region, therefore, in order to make a breakthrough, both clubs agreed to establish a new club called Kochi United SC.

It seems that the new club are going to have more supports from municipal corporation, sponsors and fans so that Kochi United SC are highly expected to move up to JFL this year.

In 2016 season, the club is likely to run a dead heat with the rival, FC Imabari, which won the championship in the league last season.
