On April 24th, Okayama host the division 2 rival, Yokohama FC. After the kickoff, Okayama aggressively kept attacking and in the 15th minute, Tanaka opened the score. After the game was equalized by former Fagiano target man, Sakuragawa, Kimura add a second. However, the home club conceded an equalizer again. J League Cup 2024 Round 2: The revenge against Yokohama FC

On March 6th, Okayama defeated Tegevajaro Miyazaki in 4 - 1. Kiyama's men showed a good performance and successfully advanced to Round 2.


On April 24th, Okayama host Yokohama FC at City Light Stadium. The club were defeated by the rival on April 3rd so that this time the red-uniformed men were expected to take the revenge.

Match Preview 1st Sec : VS Tochigi SC at City Light Stadium on February 25

This is the opening match of the new season. Okayama aim for the ticket for the promotion for the division 1 league so that the opening match can be one to test their strength.


In Tochigi, Former Japan international, Yano can be the one to watch out for. This veteran can play as a target man so that he can be the threat when he comes in before the end of the game.

2024:More difficult for the promotion to J League division 3

In 2024, there are 20 clubs in J League division 3, therefore, it is more difficult to get the ticket for the promotion. It is because there will be the playoffs between the second-placed club of JFL and the 19th club of the division 3.


Honda FC, owned by Honda Motor Co, the champion of JFL in 2023 are always the threat for the other clubs. As of now, this powerful club have no intention to aim for J league however the club can also be one of the title favorites.


Kochi United target to compete for the top two of the league. They can be the one of promotion favorites since they sign with talented players.

2024: Fukuyama City FC is expected to win the championship

Needless to say, Fukuyama City FC,the 2022 and 2023 League champion is the title favorite. Former Fagiano winger, Mimura is one of the key players. He is expected to play as chance maker.  


Another title favorite is Baleine Shimonoseki. The club also aim for J League and possibly might stop Fukuyama.

The club sign with German goal keeper, Brodersen from the newly-delegated club, Yokohama FC. He can be the one to compete for the first-choice with Hotta.


Young striker, Sakuragawa decied to play for Yokohama FC in 2024. He played for Okayama on a loan from JEF United Chiba last year. He scored four goals in 29 appearances. 

2024:Three clubs in Chushikoku region aim for the division 2

Last year, Kamatamare Sanuki were not able to compete for the promotion race. This year, they have their own new-established training facility so that they are expected to improve their performance.


Gainare Tottori had a good season, ending in the 6th place. This year, there will be the playoffs in the  division 3 as well so that the club more possibility for the promotion. 


FC Imabari also had a good season last year, finishing in the 4th place. The club successfully extended the contract with Spanish goal keeper, Serantes.

Sakamoto is back to Gamba Osaka in the division 1. He played for Okayama with four goals in 24 appearances on a loan from Gamba Osaka. 

The club decided not to extend the contract with midfielder, Hikita. Last year, he played for Ehime FC with one goal in 18 appearances on a loan.


The club sign with Brazilian forward, Gleyson. He played for Gyeongnam FC in K League division 2. He is  expected to improve the club's attacking strength.

Defender, Shimoguchi decided to play for the newly delegated club, Omiya Ardijia in the division 3. He played for FC Imabari in the division 3 on a loan for the last two years.


Defender, Takahiro YANAGI joins the club from FC Ryukyu. He had 32 appearances with three goals in 2023. He is expected to enhance the club's difensive strength.  


The club sign with an experienced defender, Tagami from Albirex Niigata. He is well-experienced for the promotion race. He is expected to lead the team to upper league.

It has been announced the departure of an mid-fielder, Noguchi.  He joined the club in 2020 and in the summer of 2023, he made a loan-deal with Kataller Toyama in the division 3.


The club sign with an attacker, Saito from Blaublitz Akita. He scored a goal against Okayama at the last sec at their home stadium last year.


Brazilian forward, Tiago Alves leaves the club. This striker scored six goal in 27 appearances in 2023. He couldn't lead the club to the upper league.

An experienced midfield player, Iwabuchi plays for the club in 2024. He had 20 appearances with seven goals for Iwaki FC in 2023.


The club sign with an experienced midfield player, Takeuchi. It is expected that his experiences and leadership lead the team to the next level.


The club also sign with Fujita from Motedio Yamagata. Last year, he made a great contribution for Yamagata to obtain the ticket to the playoffs.

Attacker, Matsuki won't play for the club in 2024. He played for Verspah Oita on a loan 2023. 

Young goal keeper, Yamada returns to Kashima Antlers for an upcoming season. He had 7 appearances for the red-uniformed men as a loan player. 

The club sign with Brazilian play maker, Gabriel Xavier. He is well-experienced and can be the one to dramatically enhance the club's offensive strength.

2023:Ehime FC made the return to the division 2

One of the promotion favorites, Ehime won the championship of the division 3. The club had been stable at the top group of the campaign throughout the year.
 

In 2022, Tottori made good efforts, ending up in the six position. Former Fagiano degender, Masutani made 33 appearances as the first-choice. The club are expected to compete for the protion in 2024.

Imabari were constantly on the promotion race, ending up in the 4th position, which was better than the year of 2022, 5th position. Shimoguchi on a loan from Okayama made 25 appearances. Next year, the club are expected to compete for top two.


Kamatamare Sanuki finished in the 16th position. In order to avoid the relegation next year, the club are required to sign with several talents to enhance the club's strength.
