Match Preview 9th Sec : VS FC Ryukyu at City Light Stadium on August 1

2018-promoted club survived in the division 2 Leauge last year, finishing in the 14th place. After the opening of 2019 term, they kept in a good form, making a big surprise.


Masutani, Uejo and Tokumoto must be motivated against their former club. Veteran forward, Abe is one of the key players. He is well-experienced so that Okayama's defenders are required to mark him with an extra care.

Match Review 8th Sec : VS Kyoto Sanga at City Light Stadium on July 29th

This sec, young centre back, CHOI Jung Won started the game for the first time this season. Sekido and Yamamoto were back in the starting line-up.


In the 11th minute, free kick was given to the home club. Ueda almost found the net. Three minutes later, Uejo made an attepmt, but it was off target. In the 19th minute, an ace forward, Lee Yong-Jae smashed the net with his excellent opener, provided by Uejo. In the 33rd minute, goal keeper, Popp William showed a fine saving. Three minutes later, Lee Yong-Jae failed to add a second.


Four minutes after the break, the game was equalized by the rival. In the 53rd minute, Lee Yong-Jae nearly made a clincher, provided by Sekido. In the 64th minute, Saito came off the bench to change the game. In the 79th minute, Uejo's free kick was blocked by Kyoto. Afterwards, they couldn't score to clinch the game.

Match Preview 8th Sec : VS Kyoto Sanga at City Light Stadium on July 29th

Last season, Kyoto constantly competed for the promotion, but after summer, the club suffered in a slump and ended up in the 8th place. This term, they target for the ticket to the upper league.


The outfit are under the reform the new head coach, Saneyoshi. The former division 1 club signed with some talented players such as, Peter UTAKA, Li and Moriwaki. At the last sec, the rival were defeated by the league's leader, Nagasaki.

Match Review 7th Sec : VS Avispa Fukuoka at Best Denki Stadium on July 25

This sec, some fresh players such as Goto, Matsuki and Shimizu are placed in the starting line-up. Veteran forwards, Akamine and Saito stood by as a substitute.


Right after the kickoff, Lee Yong-Jae tried to smash the net. In the 8th minute, a rookie midfielder, Noguchi showed a mid-range shot. Afterwards, Okayama struggled to create chances. In the 40th minute, Arima's men conceded an opening goal. Later, they failed to make it tie before the break.


After the interval, Noguchi was replaced by Sekido. In the 59th minute, An experienced playmaker, Ueda almost found the net with his free kick. Six minutes later, goal keeper, Popp William made a fine saving. In the 68th minute, two forwards, Saito and Yamamoto came off the bench. Later, Akamine was also sent onto the pitch. However, the red-uniformed men failed to equalize the game despite their efforts.

Match Preview 7th Sec : VS Avispa Fukuoka at Best Denki Stadium on July 25

In 2019, the club had a disappointing season, ending up in the 16th place. This term, they try to race for promotion. In order to secure their promotion, Okayama are required to defeat the rival. 


Former Fagiano centre back, Shinohara has been constantly-present so far. He can be the one to watch out for if he starts the game. Last sec, they defeated another promotion rival, Tokushima Vortis 1 - 0.

Match Review 6th Sec : VS V・Varen Nagasaki at City Light Stadium on July 19

This sec, rookie midfield player, Noguchi started the game, replacing Sekido. While, former Fagiano playmaker, Otake was listed on the reserve list.


After the kickoff, the home club struggled to have possession. In the 13rd minute, goal keeper, Popp William showed a fine saving. Eight minutes later, left back, Tokumoto made a fantastic opener, provided by Ueda. In the 34th minute, Popp William showed another good saving. Two minutes later, Uejo tried to add a second.


Three minutes after the interval, Ueda's free kick was cleared by the opponent. In the 64th minute, Otake came off the bench. Nine minutes later, he made an equalizer. In the 78th minute, the visitors turned it round. Afterwards, Head coach, Arima sent three attackers such as Shimizu, Saito and Akamine to equalize the game, but they failed to get points.

Match Preview 6th Sec : VS V・Varen Nagasaki at City Light Stadium on July 19

In 2019, Nagasaki stayed in the mid-table of the league. As a result, the outfit failed to get back to the division 1. This year, they target the ticket to the upper league. 


The rival have been unbeaten since the season starts. Former Fagiano attacker, Otake made the first appearancein this season at the last sec against FC Ryukyu. He is the one of key players who can trigger Nagasaki's attacking.

Match Review 5th Sec : VS Ehime FC at Ningineer Stadium on July 15

This sec, veteran centre back, Tanaka was back as a starter from his suspension. An attacker, Yamamoto started the game for the first time since the opening match this season.


Seven minutes after the kickoff, Uejo tried to smash the net, provided by Shirai. In the 15th minute, Korean poacher, Lee Yong-Jae almost found the net. three minutes later, he was not able to grasp another chance. In the 27th minute, Uejo's free kick ballooned over the bar. Afterwards, Arima's men struggled to create chances. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.


Two minutes after interval, Lee Yong-Jae's header was off target. In the 55th minute, Yamamoto made an excellent opener, assisted by Uejo. Ten minutes later, he was replaced by veteran forward, Saito. In the 80th minute, veteran playmaker, Ueda nearly added a second. As a result, the red-uniformed men successfully kept a clean sheet.

Match Preview 5th Sec : VS Ehime FC at Ningineer Stadium on July 15

This is PRIDE OF CHUSHIKOKU DERBY. Okayama visit the rival in the same region. After the restart of the campaign, Okayama have not made a victory so that the club are expected to defeat the rival.


Former Fagiano attacker, Fujimoto is one of the key players in Ehime.He must be motivated to get his first goal this season against his former club. Another former Fagiano man, Watanabe may appear as a playmaker at this sec as well.

Match Review 4th Sec : VS Giravanz Kitakyushu at City Light Stadium on July 10

This sec, an experienced centre back, Tanaka missed the match because of the suspension. Instead, a veteran defender, Goto started the game for the first time this term. Left back, Tokumoto was back as a starter.


During the match, the home club struggled to take the control. In the 21st minute, Shimizu tried to open the score. Eight minutes later, Uejo's attempt was denied by the rival's goal keeper. In the 35th minute, Ueda's free kick was saved by the keeper again. The first half ended in a scoreless tie. 


After the break, the game remained the same. In the 48th minute, Lee Yong-Jae nearly found the net. In the 61st minute, Arima's men conceded an opener. two minutes later, the red-uniformed men conceded a second.  In the 77th minute, head coach, Arima sent two attackers such as Yamamoto and Sekido to change the game but as a result, they dropped points.

Match Preview 4th Sec : VS Giravanz Kitakyushu at City Light Stadium on July 10

Last year, the club won the division 3 League and secured their promotion to the upper league. Kitakyushu is back in the division 2 for the first time in four years. Their priority is to survive in the tough league.


Last sec, Kitakyushu defeated FC Ryukyu. An Attacker, Kokubu is one the of players who scored at the game. He is from Okayama prefecture so that he is expected highly motivated against his hometown's club on July 10th.

Match Review 3rd Sec : VS Jubilo Iwata at Yamaha Stadium on July 5

The total attendance: No crowd 



This sec, an experienced right back, Mukuhara started the game for the first time this season. Rookie defender, Noguchi stood by as a substitute. Okayama never beat the rival in their history.


During the match, Arima's men struggled to dominate the game. However, in the 13rd minute, Mukuhara made a cross to an attacker, Shimizu, waiting close to the opponent's box. He smashed the net with a superb opener. In the 21st minute, Ueda's corner was cleared by Iwata. In the 40th minute, an ace forward, Lee Yong-Jae almost added a second.


After the interval, the game remained the same. In the 50th minute, Popp William showed a fine saving. Two minutes later, Shimuzu was replaced by Sekido. Eight minutes later, Popp William made another amazing saving. However, in the 70th minute, the game was equalized by the former division 1 club. Afterwards, the visitors struggled to create chances while their defenders showed a valid defense and barely made it tie.

Match Preview 3rd Sec : VS Jubilo Iwata at Yamaha Stadium on July 5

Last year, Iwata were shockingly relegated from the division league. For the powerful club, the promtion is a must so that the outfit signed with some talents.


One of the key players is Nakano. He used to play for Okayama last year. This striker is expected to come off the bench to change the game.  At the last sec, the former J League division 1 champion were defeated by Kyoto Sanga.
