2022: season in Chugoku Regional League is worthy of remark

Former JFL club, Mitsubishi Motors Mizushima FC can be the title favorite. The outfit show stable performance  in recent years.


The newly-promoted club, Fukuyama City FC are expected to compete for the promotion to Japan Football League. Fukuyama aim for J League so that the outfit sign with some talented players every year. The club possibly might stop Mizushima.

The club's transfer information #4 / 2021

The club signed with new head coach, Kiyama. He is well-experienced as a head coach. He has led several clubs to the playoffs of the division 1 before. He is expected to lead Okayama to the top league in his term.


An Ace attacker, Uejo signed with Cerezo Osaka. He scored 13 goals with 41 appearances in 2021. This is his first time to play in the division 1.  


The departure of the young centre back, Inoue has been announced. He had an established presence as a centre back with 42 appearances in 2021. He plays for a newly-promoted club, Kyoto Sanga in the division 1 in 2022.

Fagiano Legend File No. 7 : Akira KAJI

This legend defender joined from Chivas USA in the United states in 2015 at the age of 35. Before he went abroad, he used to play for several powerful clubs in the division 1 such as FC Tokyo and Gamba Osaka. He was selected as an international for 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.

 
Before 2015 season, his participation became a big news in Okayama city as well as another legend, Iwamasa. This veteran was very influential for young players.  


He played for the red-uniformed men for three years. He had an established presence in the club and made a great contribution to Okayama. After 2017 season, he announced that he would go into retirement.

2021:Matsue and Kochi made a strong showing in JFL

Matsue City FC, aiming for J League in the near future, showed well-performance, ending up in the 5th place of the league, which was the best position in the club's history. Next season, they are expected to compete for the top four with the club's new name, Kagura Shimane.


Another Chogoku region club, Kochi United finished in the 13th place of 17 clubs. Throughout the season, they stayed close to the mid table, avoiding the relegation race, which was better than expected.


In the new term, there will be 16 clubs in the league. It is expected that there will be a tight race for the promotion to J League division 3.

2021:Three clubs in Chugoku region struggled around the bottom

In 2021, Tottori were not able to compete for the promotion. During the season, the head coach, Takagi was replaced by KIM Jong-Song, however, the club finished in the 12th place out of 15 clubs.


Imabari also struggled around the bottom. The club resigned two head coaches twice during the season. However, the club's performance did not improve so that they ended up in the 11th place.


Kamatamare Sanuki finished at the bottom of the division 3. Sanuki also resigned the head coach, Uenoyama but the situation remained the same. The club are required to sign with several talents.
