Gainare Tottori:Revival from slump

In 2018, Tottori made a strong showing. The outfit had competed for the promotion throughout the season and finished in the 3rd position even though the club's head coach, Morioka was dismissed during the term.


During the season, three Brazilian attackers such as Fernandinho, Vitor Gabriel and Leonardo made a great contribution for their breakthrough.


In 2019, the club seem to target the ticket for the upper league therefore it is essential to keep those three Brazilians and enhance their defensive strength.

Veteran defender, Sawaguchi walks away from Okayama. He joined the outfit in 2009, the first year of the division 2 for Fagiano. He was the old identity.


Experienced attacker, Otake won't play for the red-uniformed men next year. He has struggled fitting to the club's tactics since he came to Okayama.


Experienced playmaker, Sueyoshi leaves the team. He struggled becoming a firm fixture in the starting line-up.


The contract with Brazilian target man, Ricardo Santos was expired. He signed with the club after the opening of 2018 season. He was expected to enhance the club's attacking strength, but he scored no goal this term.

Matsue City FC:To Japan Football League next year

The champion of Chugoku Regional League 2018 secured the promotion for Japan Football League, capturing the victory of Japan Regional Football Champions League 2018.


Their long-waited dream finally came true. Matsue city must be full of joy.


Shimane prefecture is the only one in Chugoku region without J League club. In order to get the ticket for the J League division 3, the outfit are required to reinforce themselves.

After the end of the regular season, Fagiano have started reorganizing the club. As of now, the outfit already announced that some of the players leave Okayama.


Firstly, the head coach, Nagasawa leaves after four year management. In 2016, he led the club to the playoffs for the upper league, which was their best performance in their history.


The club's new signing, Matsuki is expected to enhance the club's attacking. He is the graduate of Keio university.


An experienced attacker, Ito leaves Okayama. He has 27 appearances this season. He was one of the members who made the contribution to advance to the playoffs in 2016.  

Renofa Yamaguchi achieved a good result

The club's new head coach, Shimoda reformed his team dramatically from the last year's slump. During the first half of the season, the club constantly stayed within top six.


Their attacking strength was incredible. Their total score this season was 63 goals. Young striker, ONAIWU Ado made a breakthrough, scoring 22 goals. He joined the outfit before this term on a loan from the division 1 club, Urawa Reds.


Except for this goal scoring machine, Yamaguchi have some talented attackers such as Kishida, Takagi, Takai and Miyuki. While, they conceded 64 goals in 2018, therefore, it is obvious that their defensive strength must be enhanced. 

2018 Season Review: Failure again to the promotion

Finally 2018 season ended. Fagiano Okayama finished at the 15th position with 53 points out of 22 clubs. The club failed to advance to the playoffs, which was disappointed.


This spring, the red-uniform men were in a good shape and kept the top in the league, however, they started
dropping points easily after Korean forward, Lee Yong-Jae got injured.


During the season, several main forces got injured and missed some matches. Especially, Lee Yong-Jae's absence damaged the team heavily. After the opening of the term, Okayama acquired a few players, but except for Korean poacher,JEONG Chung-Geun, they were not able to change the team dramatically.


This term, the club struggled to defeat some powerful clubs like former the division 1 clubs. In order to secure the ticket to the upper league in 2019, the club must be reinforced more. Okayama are expected to
acquire new talented players.

2018 Season Review:Steady Defensive strength

This year, Fagiano built a sense of stability. The number of conceded goal was 43, better than the last year, 49 goals. It was obvious that the club made it to the 15th place because of the solid in their defence.


Last year, several defenders such as Shinohara and Takeda left the club. While, the club signed with several tall centre backs such as Hamada, Goto and Masuda.


During the season, those new signings proved with quality even though they missed some of matches because their injuries. Next term, they are expected to appear more constantly without injuries.


Okayama's goal keepers this year were very competitive. Ichimori and Kanayama alternately played the game and constantly showed lots of superb savings this season.

2018 Season Review: Lack of shooting ability

Before 2018 season, the club made a deal with several attacking players. However, their total score is 39 goals, which is less than the last year, 44 goals. The club revealed the lack of ability to win.


Okayama's top scorer is a young attacker, Nakama. He constanly showed well-performances and scored  eight goals.  Needless to say, he was the key player in attacking. Therefore, the club were expected to keep him for the next year.


Other attackers such as Ito, Akamine and Lee Yong-Jae were not able to play constantly becasue of injuries or their poor conditin.  A target man, Ricardo Santos betrayed the expectations of the club. His season ended with no goals.


In order to promote to the division 1 next year, their attacking strength needs to be more improved. The club are expected to aquire talented chance-maker.

After the kickoff, Okayama tried to take the initiative of the match. In the 5th minute, a young attacker, Nakama missed the chance to open the score. JEONG Chung-Geun tried to create a chance, provided by Otake, but it was offside. In the 19th minute, a young defender, Shimoguchi's shot was ballooned miles over the bar. In the 30th minute, Nakama tried to smash the net, but it was denied by Omiya's goal keeper, Shiota. Three minutes later, Lee Yong-Jae failed to make a cross. In the 40th minute, Otake almost found the net. Right after that, his cross was cleared by the opponent. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.



During the second half, Okayama aggressively kept pushing forward. In the 47th minute, a playmaker, Ueda's corner was stopped by Shiota. Five minutes later, the rival's midfielder, Shimada was sent off. In the 55th minute, Lee Yong-Jae tried to get closer to the Omiya's box, but it was offside. Eight minutes later, Sawaguchi came in. Four minutes later, the red-uniformed men conceded an opening goal. In the 72nd minute, Nagasawa sent two strikers, Saito and Akamine to equalize the match. On April 14, after the kickoff, Okayama struggled to have possession. In the 9th minute, they conceded an opening goal by Omiya's ace attacker, Omae. Former Fagiano attacker, Sakai is one of the key players. He has been constantly present this season. He has scored three goals with 35 appearances. The rival still have the chance for the playoffs so that they are expected to be highly motivated.


At the last sec, Omiya met Montedio Yamagata in their home stadium. During the match, Omiya mainly took the initiative of the match, scoring two goals. Even though they conceded one goal during the added time of the second half, they successfully boosted their hopes of advancing for the playoffs.

After the kickoff, a young striker, Nakama and Lee Yong-Jae tried to push forward, but they struggled to exceed the opponent's solid defence. In the 3rd minute, the visitors easily conceded an opening goal. Four minutes later, Nakama tried to take behind the rival's defence line, but it was offside. In the 22nd minute, Nakama failed to provide a cross with his teammates in the box. Afterwards, the red-uniformed men were mostly forced to play on their own side. In the 38th minute, an experienced goal keeper, Kanayama made an excellent stopping. In the 43rd minute, Nakama tried to made a cross, but it didn't work.


Akamine came off the bench at the beginning of the second half. In the 49th minute, the rival doubled the lead. In the 58th minute, Akamine headed side, provided by an experienced playmaker, Ueda. Right after that, the veteran poacher was not able to grasp another chance. In the 61st minute, an attacker, Otake was sent onto the pitch. Seven minutes later, Hamada headed side. Yokohama's key player is Ibba. This Norwegian ace striker has scored 17 goals so far this season. Okayama's defenders are required to mark him with an extra care.


At the last sec, Yokohama FC met their promotion rival,Oita Trinita. During the match, Yokohama aggressively kept pushing forward. Even through they conceded an opening goal, Yokohama scored three goals, defeating the former division 1 club.

Five minutes later, a young midfielder, Takeda's attempt was blocked by the rival. In the 34th minute, a veteran goal keeper, Kanayama made a fine stopping. One minute later, a young playmaker, Tsukagawa almost found the net with his header. In the 40th minute, Nakama was not able to grasp a chance. This season, Yamaguchi's head coach, Shimoda has managed his club well. During the first half of this season, the club's performance was a big surprise. One of the key players is ONAIWU Ado. The ace striker has already scored 21 goals so far.

Afterwards, the red-uniformed men kept pressuring against the rival. In the 19th minute, an experienced goal keeper, Kanayama showed a fine saving. In the 23rd minute, a young attacker, Takeda's shot was ballooned miles over the bar. In the 30th minute, Nakama almost found the net. Seven minutes later, a playmaker, Ueda nearly smashed the net.In the 42nd minute, Nakama was not able to grasp another chance. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.


Right after the break, Nakama's header was side-netted. Afterwards, he kept trying to change the game. In the 51st minute, he pushed forward, trying to receive a through pass, but it was offside. In the 61st minute, Mukuhara failed to provide a cross with his teammates in the box. In the 68th minute, a veteran, Akamine headed off,  crossed by Ueda. On April 28th, in the 10th minute, a veteran, Akamine almost smashed the net with his header from his club's set piece. In the 20th minute, Okayama conceded an opening goal. In the 34th minute, Nakama stroke a superb header, equalizing the game. Three minutes after the interval, an experienced defender, Hamada made a brilliant clincher. In the 66th minute, Okayama added a third with the rival's own goal. As a result, Okayama successfully defeated the opponent.


An attacker, Minagawa is one of the key players as he scored a goal against Okayama at the 11th sec. He has already scored ten goals so far. An experienced defender, Ueda used to play for Okayama before. 


At the last sec, Kumamoto faced Mito Hollyhock. During the match, the clube struggled to take the initiative,conceding three goals. Even though Kumamoto scored two goals, they were not able to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation.

Later, the home club were mostly forced to play on their own side. In the 21st minute, a young attacker, Nakama's attempt was blocked by the opponent. Eight minutes later, Nakama was not able to open the score, crossed by a veteran defender, Sawaguchi. In the 34th minute, Takeda smashed the net with a super opening goal, assisted by Nakama. On May 27, in the 21st minute, a goal keeper, Kanayama showed a fine saving, encouraging his teammates.In the 41st minute, a young attacker, Nakama's headed off target. In the 54th minute, Ueda scored an opener with a brilliant free kick. Four minutes later, Nakama added a second with a superb volley. In the 73rd minute, a veteran, Akamine made a clincher with a penalty. Later, the red-uniformed men conceded a goal. As a result, Okayama successfully defeated the rival.


Needless to say, Machida's poachers are two experienced strikers such as an ace forward, Suzuki and a veteran striker, Nakajima. They have scored five goals and ten goals respectively. On May 27, Nakajima scored a goal against Okayama.


At the last sec, Machida faced the league leader, Oita Trinita. During the match, Machida's attacking players such as Romero Frank and Nakajima made a strong showing, scoring goals respectively. As a result, they defeated the rival, 3 - 2.

During the match, Okayama struggled to have a ball possession. In the 10th minute, the Korean attacker tried to make an attempt. Two minutes later, a young forward, Nakama's shot was over the bar. In the 20th minute, a free kick was given to the visitors. An experienced playmaker, Sueyoshi missed the chance to open the score. In the 32nd minute, JEONG failed to provide a pass with his teammates. A minute later, his shot was denied by Gifu's goal keeper. In the 42nd minute, a forward, Saito failed to make an opener. Two minutes later, an experienced goal keeper, Kanayama showed a superb saving. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.


Six minutes after the break, a young midfielder, Tsukagawa's attempt was blocked by the opponent. Six minutes later, Saito stroke an excellent opening goal, bringing forces to his club. On April 21, after the kickoff, Akamine kept trying to push forward as a target man. In the 10th minute, he stroke a mid-range shot, but it was off target. In the 21st minute, a rookie defender, Abe almost found the net. Four minutes after the break, Akamine's attempt in the box was off target. In the 78th minute, Brazilian forward, Ricardo Santos came off the bench to change the game. During the added time, Santos tried to make a chance for a clincher, however, the game ended in a scoreless draw.


Former Fagiano defender, Takeda has been constantly present this term. Before this season, He left for Gifu. He knows well about his former club so that Okayama are required to play in a fresh tactics. 


At the 36th sec, Gifu tried to take the initiative against Renofa Yamaguchi, however, they conceded an opener with their own goal. Later, they were not able to　change the game. Even though Gife scored one goal, they conceded three goals and lost to Yamaguchi.

In the 20th minute, the visitors conceded an opening goal. Five minutes later, young playmaker, Tsukagawa was replaced by Korean forward, JEONG Chung-Geun due to a sudden accident. In the 38th minute, an experienced forward, Saito's header was denied by Fukuoka's goal keeper, Sugiyama. Four minutes later, Ueda's corner was saved by Sugiyama again. Before the interval, JEONG Chung-Geun stroke a superb equalizer.

On May 6, three minutes after the kickoff, the home club conceded an opening goal. Afterwards, Okayama tried to push forward with pace and create chances. In the 41st minute, an attacker, Mimura stroke a fantastic equalizer. The first half ended in a tie. In the 66th minute, an experienced striker, Ito made a superb goal, during the added time, the game was shockingly equalized by Fukuoka.


Former Okayama defender, Shinohara has been constantly present this season. He can be the one to watch out for because he knows well about his former club. While, Okayama's experienced playmaker and centre back, Sueyoshi and Hamada must be motivated because they used to play for Fukuoka last year.


At the last sec, Fukuoka faced the rival for the promotion, Omiya Ardija. During the match, Fukuoka mainly took the initiative of the game. Fukuoka's two veterans, Jogo and Yamase scored goals, bringing a victory to his club.

Seven minutes later, Saito's attempt was denied by the opponent. In the 37th minute, Ueda's free kick was cleared by Niigata. In the 44th minute, Mimura tried to enter the box, but it failed.

Five minutes later, his another effort was sided-netted. In the 54th minute, Nakama missed another chance for an opening goal. In the 70th minute, a penalty was given to Okayama. An experienced striker, Saito gave a lead to his team. Afterwards, Okayama successfully defeated the rival. 


One of the key players is former Japan international, Yasuda. He has been constantly present this season and has scored six goals even though he plays as a defender. 


At the last sec, during the match, Niigata struggled to keep pushing forward. In the 61st minute, a veteran, Yano came off the bench to change the game. In the 80th minute, he made a clincher, bringing three straight victories to his club.

In the 12th minute, Takahashi tried to provide a pass with the Korean forward. In the 17th minute, Lee failed to give a pass to his teammate in the box. In the 30th minute, a playmaker, Ueda's free kick was denied. Right after that, the rival added a second. Later, the red-uniformed men struggled to keep pushing forward.


After the interval, the game remained the same. Therefore, in the 58th minute, head coach, Nagasawa sent two attackers onto the pitch such as Ricardo Santos and Otake, in order to change the game. One of the key players, Kiyohara is the one to watch out. He used to play for Cerezo Osaka in the 2016 and scored a clincher against Okayama at the playoffs for the division 1. This term, he has scored three goals so far. 


At the 28th sec, Kanazawa faced former division 1 club, Ventforet Kofu. Five minutes after the kickoff, Kiyohara opened the score, trying to take the initiative. However, afterwards, they conceded two goals and lost to the rival. 

J League Division 3 2018:Gainare Tottori in a good form

This season, Gainare made an encouraging start. Three Brazilian attackers brought a big change to their team and made a leap forward. After the 19th sec, the club stay in the 5th position with 27 points, that is better than expected.


Even though, during the season, head coach, Morioka was dismissed. new coach, Sudo manages the team well. Their attacking strength has been improved due to the club's pre-season reinforcement. 


This term, Tottori still have the chance to get back to the division 2. This late August, the league is going to reopen, therefore the club are expected to to chase the top group.

Last year, Yokohama FC ended up in the 10th place. This season, Yokohama can be considered one of the rivals, aiming for the playoffs. In order to stay in the top group of the table, Okayama are expected to defeat the opponent. 


In Yokohama FC, there are two former Fagiano men. The first is an experienced defensive fielder, Watanabe. The second one is a defender, Tadokoro. Watanabe has been constanly-present this term, while,Tadokoro has missed the last sec.


On June 9, Yokohama faced former division 1 club, Omiya Ardija. During the match, the team revealed the lack of ability to win, conceding four goals without their goals. As a result, Yokohama stay in the 8th place after the 18th sec.

Emperor's cup 2018:The club met FC Machida Zelvia at the second round

The long-awaited Emperor's cup finally began. It is known that the cup winner is qualified to AFC Champions League. Since Fagiano belong to the division 2 now, this is an only chance for the club to obtain the ticket to the composition.


This year, Okayama faced FC Machida Zelvia on June 6th at City Light Stadium. On May 27, Okayama defeated Machida at Machida Athletic Stadium in the division 2 league.

On June 6, Okayama's head coach, Nagasawa placed some fresh men in the starting line-up. During the match, the red-uniformed men aggressively kept attacking. However, they couldn't score to clinch the game. Right before the end of the match, Okayama conceded a clincher. As a result, they were eliminated from the Emperor's cup.

This year, the rival made a deal with former Mito Hollyhock ace forward, Hayashi. He has scored one goal so far and he can be considered the key player. Okayama's defenders are required to mark him with an extra care.


At the 14th sec, Tokyo were shockingly defeated by Renofa Yamaguchi. After the kickoff, Verdy took a two goal lead, dominating the match. However, before the end of the match, the game was turned around by Yamaguchi. As a result, Tokyo lost in 3 - 4.
