Chugoku Regional League 2016:One of the title hopefuls have been in a slump

After 14th sec, one of the powerful clubs in this league, Dezzolla Shimane have been struggling in the 6th place with 20 points. Unfortunately, the club have almost no chance for the championship this season.


On the other hand, Matsue City FC have risen to the top. Matsue are expected to make a breakthrough in All Japan Regional Football Promotion League Series as well.


Two clubs, which got promoted from the lower league, have been hovering around the bottom of this campaign so far. Hatsukaichi FC and SC Tottori Dreams stay in the 8th place and the 10th place respectively out of 10 clubs. Their priority is certainly to avoid the demotion.


The league is going to reopen in September.

Emperor's cup 2016:The club meet Matsue City FC at the first round

The long-awaited Emperor's cup is coming up soon. It is known that the cup winner is qualified to AFC Champions League, which is the right every club desires. Since Fagiano belongs to the division 2 now, this is only chance for the club to obtain the spot.


This year, Okayama face Matsue City FC in Matsue on August 27th. The opponent belongs to Chugoku Regional League this year, therefore Okayama's head coach, Nagasawa is expected to place some fresh men in the starting line-up.


I personally expect the club to win the first two matches to meet seven-time division 1 champion, Kashima Antlers. A veteran, Iwamasa and a young striker, Toyokawa used to play for this powerful club before.

Emperor's cup 2016:Next go for Inyo Derby

On August 21, the qualifier of Emperor's Cup took place. Fagiano Okayama Next met IPU Kantaiheiyo University in the finals and successfully defeated the rival, 3 - 0.


During the match, Next mostly took the initiative. In 18th minute, the product of the club's academy, Chibu stroke an openening goal, bringing forces to his team. In 34th minute, a young attacker, Fujioka added a memorable second. After the break,  Okayama actively tried to finalize the game. In 63th minute, Fujioka made a clincher, securing their victory.


On August 27, at the first round of the Emperor's Cup, Fagiano Okayama Next face J League division 3 club, Gainare Tottori at Tottori Bird Stadium. This is also called Inyo Derby because Okayama and Tottori are based in Sanyo area and Sanin area of Chugoku region respectively.


Last year, the top team were beaten by Gainare at the first round of the Emperor's cup, therefore Next are expected to make an upset victory to avenge its defeat.

Match Review 30th Sec : VS JEF United Chiba at Fukuda Denshi Arena on August 21

This sec, a young playmaker, Yajima was back from the Olympic Games. Two young attackers, Toyokawa and  Katayama were listed as a starter. They were expected to play as a chance-taker. While, Chiba's attacker, Nagasawa played as a starter.


After the kick off, the rival tried to dominate the match. In 8th minute, red-uniformed men were not able to grasp the chance with their corner kick.  In 9th minute, Chiba's attacker, Machida made an opening goal, bringing forces to his team. In 13rd minute, a goal keeper, Nakabayashi showed a superb saving. A minute later, Toyokawa tried to equalize the game. In 21th minute, Akamine missed to provide a cross. Later, Ito failed to make an equalizer. In 26th minute, Sekido took a shot. In 29th minute, Nakabayashi made another excellent saving.  In 35th minute, Yajima almost found the net with his mid-range shot. In 39th minute, Takeda missed a good chance. Later. Yajima took another mid-range shot.


After the kickoff, Okayama struggled to make chances. While, the rival actively tried to add a second. In 60th minute, Sakai came off the bench to change the game. Later, Toyokawa nearly netted a goal. In 67nd minute, Oshitani came in. Nakabayashi saved his team again, stopping Machida's shot. In 73th minute, a Chiba's Brazilian forward, Elton added a second. One minute later, Watanabe was sent off. In 79th minute, Nakabayashi showed a fine saving. Four minutes later, Yajima tried to score a goal. During the added time, Ito nearly scored a goal with a free kick. Later, Oshitani failed to strike a goal. As a result, Okayama were disappointedly defeated.

Match Preview 30th Sec : VS JEF United Chiba at Fukuda Denshi Arena on August 21

At 2nd sec, Okayama defeated Chiba 2 - 1 at City Light Stadium. During the match, more possession belonged to the rival, but after the break, an ace attacker, Oshitani stroke an excellent opener. Later, he added a goal, bringing forces to his club. In 70th minute,
Chiba's attacker, Nagasawa netted a goal.


An attacker, Nagasawa has been almost ever-present this season. He has already scored four goals and he has usually played a main origin in his team's attacking. Fagiano's defenders are required to mark him carefully otherwise Okayama would struggle to dominate the game.


At 29th sec, Chiba met Roasso Kumamoto. During the match, Chiba struggled to take the initiative of the match. Kumamoto scored three goals one after another. While, Chiba were not able to find the net.


This summer, Chiba's head coach, Sekiduka was dismissed because of the club's slump. The new head coach, Hasebe has been trying to reform his team. In order for JEF to advance the playoffs, a victory is a must, therefore, the match is expected to be tough.

Match Review 29th Sec : VS Kamatamare Sanuki at City Light Stadium on August 14

This sec, a defensive midfielder, Shimada and a Korean defender, Kin Jin-Kyu, a veteran, Kaji were back as a starter. An ace forward, Oshitani was expected to score the tenth goal this season. An attacker, Akiyoshi stood by as a substitute.


Right after the kickoff, a veteran, Akamine took the first shot for this derby match. Later, Sanuki actively kept pressuring against red-uniformed men. In 8th minute, Oshitani headed off. Three minutes later, Ito stroke a mid-range shot. Afterwards, Shimada tried to make an opener with his a mid-range shot. In 19th minute, Oshitani missed a good chance. In 30th minute, Kim Jin-Kyu smashed an excellent opener, bringing forces to his team. In 38th minute, Oshitani tried to add a second. Before the break, rival's attacker, Nakama equalized the game.


At the beginning of the second period, a young attacker came in as a chance-taker. In 49th minute, Oshitani stroke a mid-range shot. Right after that, a goal keeper, Nakabayashi showed a superb saving. In 58th minute, Oshitani added a second with a penalty kick. Later, Toyokawa actively tried to make chances. In 72th minute, Oshitani almost netted a third.
Two minutes later, Watanabe came off the bench. Five minutes later, Kaji failed to make a clincher. In 84th minute, a rookie forward, Fujimoto was sent onto the pitch to finalize the game. Two minutes later, Nakabayashi made an excellent saving. During the added time, Toyokawa stroke a memorable third, securing Okayama's victory. Okayama successfully defeated the rival.

Match Preview 29th Sec : VS Kamatamare Sanuki at City Light Stadium on August 14

On June 26, Okayama actively kept pressuring against Sanuki. In 30th minute, a veteran attacker, Akamine smashed an opening goal, bringing forces to his team. Later, a goal keeper, Nakabayashi showed several superb savings, securing the club's victory.


This is Seto Great Bridge Derby, round two, this season. A first choice midfield player, Okamura is from Okayama. He used to play for V・Varen Nagasaki and Roasso Kumamoto. He is well-experienced and he is expected to appear at this sec.


At last sec, Sanuki faced Thespakusatsu Gunma. During the match, Kamatamare struggled to dominate the match. At the first period, Gunma scored two goals, taking the initiative of the game In 39th minute, Sanuki's attacker Baba smashed a goal, but the opponent's rookie, Segawa stroke a clincher, defeating Kamatamare. 


This year, Sanuki made a good start, but later, they have struggled to chase the top group of this campaign, staying in the 17th place as of now. This derby match is expected to be very heated.

Match Review 28th Sec : VS Ehime FC at Ningineer Stadium on August 11

This sec, a young attacker, Sakai was listed as a starter for the first time this season since he came to Okayama. He is expected to work as a chance-taker. A midfield player, Tanaka and a defender, Shinohara were back in the starting line-up. Former Okayama defender, Tamabayashi was not listed for the member of this match.


Six minutes after the kickoff, Ito stroke a mid-range shot as his club's first shot for this match. For the early part of the game, more possession belonged to the rival. In 12th minute, Ehime's forward, Nishida almost found the net with his header. After that, Nagasawa's men struggled to take the initiative of the game. In 25th minute, a veteran, Akamine's shot was saved by the opponent's goal keeper, Kodama. A minute later, Iwamasa headed off, provided by Ito. Later, red-uniformed men were not able to take shots. It seemed both teams suffered in a humid climate of this mid-summer. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.


Seven minutes after the kickoff, Akamine tried to provide a pass, but it didn't work well. A minute later, Sakai failed to make an opener. In 61th minute, Okayama luckily scored an opening goal with the opponent's own goal. Right after that, an ace striker, Oshitani came off the bench. In 69th minute, Ito almost added a second. In 73th minute, he took a pinpoint free kick, but it disappointedly hit the crossbar. In 77th minute, the rival's striker, Sakano equalized the game with a penalty kick. In 82th minute, a rookie attacker, Fujimoto was sent onto the pitch to change the game. In 85th minute, Katayama got a yellow card, therefore he is going to be suspended for the next sec. Afterwards, Oshitani took a mid-range shot. During the added time, a defender, Sawaguchi came in. Right before the end, a goalkeeper, Nakabayashi showed an excellent saving. As a result, match ended in a tie.

Match Preview 28th Sec : VS Ehime FC at Ningineer Stadium on August 11

At 14th sec, after the kickoff, more chances belonged to Ehime. In 45th minute, their striker, Kondo smashed an opener. During the second period, in 62th minute, Tanaka scored a memorable equalizer on a header. Five miutes before the end of the match, a veteran forward, Akamine finalize the game with his header.


This is also PRIDE OF CHUSHIKOKU Derby match, therefore, lots of Okayama fans were expected to flock to Ningineer Stadium. Former Fagiano's defender, Tamabayashi has been almost ever present this season. He is the local here in Ehime.


At last sec, Ehime met JEF United Chiba. During the first half, Ehime mostly dominated the game. However, they struggled to score a goal. While, their defenders made a strong showing. The match ended in a scoreless tie.


Currently, Ehime stay in the 12th place with 33 points. They still have the chance for the playoffs, therefore the match is expected to be heated.  

Match Review 27th Sec : VS Tokushima Vortis at City Light Stadium on August 7

The total attendance: 10,443

This sec, an attacker, Katayama was back as a starter. Former Niigata Albirex man, Sakai stood by as a substitute. He was expected to appear to finalize the game. The rival's key player, Watari was listed on the reserve list.


During the first half, in the 8th minute, Iwamasa headed off as the club's first shot of this match. Two minutes later, Okayama showed  memorable passes and then, a playmaker, Sekido netted an opener, assisted by Ito. In 12th minute, Akamine tried to add a second with his header, provided by Iwamasa. In 20th minute, Akamine had another chance, but he was not able to grasp it. In 33rd minute, Oshitani failed to add a second with his mid-range shot. In 38th minute, Akamine almost found the net with his heading, provided by Oshitani. Later, the rival kept pressuring against Okayama. The red-uniformed men showed good defences.


Right after the break, Oshitani tried to take a shot, passed by Akamine. In 49th minute, a goal keeper, Nakabayashi showed a nice saving, encouraging his team. In 52nd minute, Oshitani headed off.  In 57th minute, Akamine tried to add a goal with Katayama's long-range throw-in. In 61st minute, Akamine had another chance, but it was blocked by the rival. In 66th minute, Oshitani almost smashed a second. Right after that, he was replaced by a rookie attacker, Fujimoto. In 68th minute, the rookie tried to net a goal. Later, the visitors actively kept attacking to equalize the game. In 82nd minute, Shimada came in to reinforce Okayama's defence. During the added time, Sakai came off the bench to finalize the match. As a result, Okayama successfully kept a clean sheet, defeating Tokushima.

Match Preview 27th Sec : VS Tokushima Vortis at City Light Stadium on August 7

On June 20, Okayama had a close game against Tokushima. In 30th minute, a defender, Takeda made an equalizer with a corner kick. Later, an attacker, Ito added an excellent second. After the break, an ace attacker, Oshitani stroke a clincher, bringing a victory to his club.


This is PRIDE OF CHUSHIKOKU Derby match, therefore, lots of Okayama fans are expected to come to their home stadium. Former Giravanz Kitakyushu's forward, Watari can be viewed as a threat. He has been constantly on a pitch. He has scored six goals so far this year.


On July 31, Tokushima faced Matsumoto Yamaga FC. The match was literally exciting. During the game, Tokushima tried to dominate the match, but in 71st minute, Matsumoto took a one-goal lead. Right before the end, Watari smashed an equalizer, making the match a tie.


As of now, the former division 1 club still have the chance for the playoffs. This summer, the rival acquired a Cameroon attacker,     Emana to achieve their goal. He has 42 capps for his country. He is expected to work as their trump.  

Another trump joins the club

Last week, Okayama unveiled that they acquired a 21 year-old forward, Wang Jingbin on a loan from Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC in Chinese Super League division 1. The club is one of the powerful clubs in Asia. Guangzhou won the 2013 & 2015 championships in Asian Champion's League.


This young attacker has no caps for Guangzhou's top team, but needless to say, Wang is promising in Chinese football. 


He is the first Chinese player for Fagiano. His success seems to depend on how well he will be able to communicate with his team mates.He is highly expected to work as a chance-taker.

JFL Match Review 7th Sec (2nd) : VS HONDA FC on July 30

On March 20, Next were beaten by this powerful club. Even though Okayama put up a great battle,Honda scored two goals, one after another during the added time. The result was disappointing for Fagiano's fans.


During the match, Okayama's attackers such as Fujioka and Ishikawa made a strong showing, but they struggled to dominate the game. While, in 78th minute, the rival stroke a clincher. As a result, the club failed to avoid a seventh consecutive defeat.


At 8th sec, Okayama meet Vanraure Hachinohe in Hachinohe. The red-uniformed men are expected to rise up for the first victory at the 2nd stage.The match takes place on September 11.

Match Review 26th Sec : VS Giravanz Kitakyushu at Honjo Athletic Stadium on July 31

This sec, head coach, Nagasawa placed the same starting line as the last sec. An ace attacker, Oshitani were expected to play as a chance-taker. A rookie attacker, Fujimoto was back on the reserve list from an injury list.


After the kickoff, Okayama tried to dominate the game. In 9th minute, Ito failed to find a net with his long-range shot. Five minutes later, a defender, Takeda headed off, provided by a captain, Iwamasa. In 16th minute, another defender, Sawaguchi made an opening goal, encouraging his teammates. In 26th minute, Girabanz's attacker, Ikemoto stroke a equalizer with a penalty kick. In 33th minute, Oshitani failed to add a second. Two minutes later, a veteran, Kaji's cross was cleared by the rival. In 38th minute, Akamine were not able to grasp a chance. The first half ended in a tie.


During the second half, Ito were not able to provide a pass with Oshitani. Three minutes later, Oshitani missed a chance. In 60th minute, Akamine took a shot. Five minutes later, he had another chance. In 68th minute, a young attacker, Toyokawa came off the bench to change the match. In 74th minute, he tried to add a second. Four minutes later, Iwamasa smashed a goal. In 82th minute, Shimada came in. Five minutes later, head coach, Nagasawa sent Katayama onto the pitch to finalize the game. During the added time, Akamine stroke an excellent clincher, defeating Kitakyushu.
