Five minutes after the kickoff, Hotta showed a fine saving. In the 9th minute, Tanaka almost found the net with his header, crossed by Han. In the 11th minute, Takagi could not make a through pass to Lucas in the Kumamoto's box. In the 19th minute, Lucas's strike wa ballooned over the cross bar. In the 21st minute, Hotta made another good saving. Later, the home club struggled to attack forward. In the 41st minute, Lucas's header was slightly off target. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.


After the break, in the 47th minute, Semba's attempt was denied by the Rival's keeper. In the 55th minute, Lucas was replaced by Sakuragawa. In the 58th minute, Sano's strike was off target. Afterwards, Kiyama's men struggled to make finishes. In the 74th minute, Kawai nearly opend the score. In the 75th minute, Kimura and Tiago came off the bench to change the game. However, they couldn't make a clincher and the both club shared a point.
